A chronicle of Michelangelo and the opposition he faces from Pope Julius II while painting the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. Based on Irving Stone’s biographical novel by the same name, the film was released in 1965 and stars Charlton Heston and Rex Harrison. 

Presented in partnership with the Muscarelle Museum of Art in honor of their special exhibit “Michelangelo: The Genesis of the Sistine,” on display March 6 - May 28.
