Volunteer Opportunities for Adults–
Colonial Williamsburg has limited availability for Adult Volunteer
placement at this time. Volunteer positions are non-costumed
and year-round - typically filled by local area residents. Training
is provided for incoming volunteers. All positions are non-paid.

Volunteer Opportunities
for Youth (ages 10-18) –
These year-round positions are limited
to children who live in Williamsburg,
James City County, and the Bruton District
of York County. There are no further openings for junior interpreters
in 2008. New opportunities may be available in 2009. Email rwillett@cwf.org

Paid
Fellowships or Internships –
Opportunities that are temporary. Most
are paid or have a stipend. At varying
times of the year these positions are
posted in the Job
Vacancies section of our web site.
Sample job titles are: Intern/Fellow,
Intern, Fellow/Intern and Intern Historic
Trades Brickmaking. Additional information
about fellowships at the John D. Rockefeller,
Jr. Library can be found in the Library
section of this website.
Summer Jobs - Opportunities that are
temporary. These positions are paid. As early as February these
positions are posted in the Job
Vacancies section of our web. Job titles do not differ from
year-round jobs, such as “Interpreter.” On the job posting,
“Status” will show as “Casual” or “Probationary”
but not all casual and probationary jobs are limited to the summer
months. Clarification will be found in the job posting. Work schedules
begin as early as May. Some jobs run into September.
