CW's Golden Horseshoe Golf Club shows appreciation to military with special rates

Colonial Williamsburg’s Golden Horseshoe Golf Club continues its Military Appreciation Golf Special to honor our country’s service men and women.

Through Nov. 25, active duty or retired members of any branch of the U.S. armed forces may play the Green Course Mondays – Thursdays for $39, and Fridays – Sundays for $49. Special rates apply for tee times any time Mondays through Thursdays and after 11 a.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Price per person includes 18 holes of golf, cart and green fees. The special is valid for up to four people, and is not available to groups. Tee times may be booked up to five days in advance subject to availability and course operating schedule. Call 1-800-648-6653 or 757-220-7696 for tee times or to inquire about special rates for the Gold Course.

The Golden Horseshoe Golf Club is a championship venue widely acclaimed for its two dynamic golf designs: the Gold Course, originally designed by the famed Robert Trent Jones Sr. and renovated by his son Rees Jones (6,817-yards from the championship tees), and the Green Course, a Rees Jones layout (7,120-yards from the tips). GOLF magazine, in its September 2006 issue, ranked the Gold Course No. 48 on its “Top 100 Courses You Can Play” for 2006-2007.

The Golden Horseshoe is part of Colonial Williamsburg’s Resort Collection. The Green Course is located at 520 S. England St. in Williamsburg.

Established in 1926, the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation is the not-for-profit educational institution that preserves and operates the restored 18th-century Revolutionary capital of Virginia as the nation’s largest living history museum. The Colonial Williamsburg Company, a subsidiary of the Foundation, operates a Resort Collection with more than 1,000 guest rooms among five hotels including the landmark Williamsburg Inn, four historic dining taverns and six restaurants, and 66,000 square feet of conference space centered at the Williamsburg Lodge, as well as a new 20,000-square-foot spa, and the Golden Horseshoe golf courses. Each purchase of Colonial Williamsburg products and services supports the Foundation’s preservation, research, and educational programs.

Williamsburg is located in Virginia’s Tidewater region, 20 minutes from Newport News, within an hour’s drive of Richmond and Norfolk, and 150 miles south of Washington, D.C., off Interstate 64.
