WILLIAMSBURG® Holiday Catalog captures spirit of season

More than 1.9 million copies of the Holiday 2002 WILLIAMSBURG Catalog will be mailed to loyal customers this season. According to Valerie Norton, catalog sales manager, a new toy—a limited edition Noah’s Ark, complete with animals, Noah and his wife—is destined to become a family heirloom. Response to the hand-carved and hand-painted ark has been terrific, she said.
Norton said the holiday 2002 catalog has several exciting themed spreads, including:

  • Shopping Williamsburg’s Duke of Gloucester Street. This two-page layout features “fine products from our finest establishments” and highlights a product from each of four merchants on Duke of Gloucester Street, including the John Greenhow Store, Prentis Store, Mary Dickinson Shop and James Craig Jeweller. These pages also introduce the newest collectibles, a mother and daughter shopping for the holidays, from WILLIAMSBURG licensee Byers’ Choice®.
  • Great Gifts $30 and Under. This spread suggests unique gift ideas for friends and family, including mini frames from the WILLIAMSBURG Lenox-Kirk Stieff Collection and a calendar tea towel from WILLIAMS-BURG licensee Stevens Linens.
  • WILLIAMSBURG Christmas™. This special section offers a variety of garden products for people who want to try their hand at decorating for the holidays. “New for this book, we’re offering artificial Christmas greenery that looks exceptionally real,” Norton said. These faux perennials are available in wreaths, swags and garlands adorned with a variety of greenery, fruits and berries. For the do-it-yourselfer, the holiday catalog offers several wrought iron forms to fill in with your own fruits and greenery. “We are offering a new form, an S-curve centerpiece,” she said. “The centerpiece is selling like crazy! We’re really excited about that.”

    The WILLIAMSBURG Catalog introduces red, white and blue Christmas ornaments to complement any holiday greenery. New this year are red, clear and blue blown-glass balls, a Civil War Santa ornament and figurine, a set of three Fife and Drum Corps ornaments and three grand old flags—the American flag, colonial 13-star flag and Grand Union flag—from WILLIAMSBURG licensee Virginia Metalcrafters.

    The new Christmas Traditions bedding ensemble will keep you nestled snug in your bed during the holidays. This pattern, which comes in three sizes with matching bed skirts, also coordinates with the new Deer Heart throw created by WILLIAMSBURG licensee C&F Enterprises.

    To ensure customers don’t miss any deals, Mr. Nobody, the WILLIAMSBURG Catalog icon, highlights exceptional values throughout the holiday book. For example, he reminds catalog customers that the Pine Bough and Mulled Cider Candles are great buys and illustrates the prices in bold, color type. This is only one of the special deals featured in the holiday book.
