WILLIAMSBURG® launches new garden line by ACLA Designs

WILLIAMSBURG® has launched an inspired new collection of garden wares crafted by ACHLA Designs, the Massachusetts-based manufacturer of garden products and fireplace accessories. The new collection is divided into four product categories: WILLIAMSBURG Then & Now, the WILLIAMSBURG Posy Series, the WILLIAMSBURG Garden Grove Collection and the WILLIAMSBURG Hospitality Collection. Each is inspired by original 18th-century design elements.

WILLIAMSBURG Then & Now products provide today’s gardener with a distinctive collection of garden tools and accessories inspired by decorative and utilitarian wares of the 18th and 19th centuries. Ranging from glass bell jars and plant trivets to wheelbarrows and birdcages, these accessories are hand-formed out of glass, wood, copper, iron and steel, and are a “natural” for all your gardening needs.

The WILLIAMSBURG Posy Series, inspired by an 18th-century wrought iron fireplace crane, exemplifies how even the most utilitarian objects can become a work of art in the hands of a skilled blacksmith. This category includes an assortment of cressets (baskets for holding votive candles), wall sconces, flower box brackets and demilune stands.

The WILLIAMSBURG Garden Grove Collection offers today’s naturalist distinctive forms of garden architecture derived from 18th-century design motifs. This category comprises a wide variety of graceful trellis designs – rococo, fan-back and more – in addition to an appealing selection of statuesque plant stands.

The WILLIAMSBURG Hospitality Collection welcomes visitors to your garden with the traditional symbol of hospitality – the pineapple. Carried to the New World from the West Indies by Christopher Columbus in 1493, this exotic fruit was a rare luxury and sharing it with a friend or guest was considered an act of great generosity. This category features products proudly wearing the hospitable pineapple design – from a frieze and stand set to a votive holder complete with spike mount.

ACHLA Designs produces a broad range of garden products and fireplace accessories. The company began operations in 1994 under Achla Bahl Madan, an architect, and her husband Ashok Hingorany, an engineer and owner of Minuteman International, which manufactures woodstove and fireplace accessories.
