Popular Golf Tournaments Return to Golden Horseshoe in November
Autumn is the perfect time for golf in Virginia; and Colonial Williamsburg’s Golden Horseshoe invites golfers to enjoy two annual favorites this November. The 19th annual Couples Tournament will be held Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 7 – 8, and the fall Military Invitational Tournament will be held Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 12 – 13.
Special room rates are available at the Williamsburg Woodlands Hotel and Suites, one of Colonial Williamsburg’s official hotels. Rates start at $109 per room, per night, excluding tax and gratuity. Reservations are available by calling 1-800-447-8679 and requesting the golf tournament rate.
The Golden Horseshoe Golf Club is a championship venue widely acclaimed for its two dynamic golf designs: the Gold Course, originally designed by the famed Robert Trent Jones Sr. and renovated by his son Rees Jones (6,817 yards from the championship tees), and the Green Course, a Rees Jones layout (7,120 yards from the tips) celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. The Gold Course was recently recognized by Golf Digest as one of America’s 100 Greatest Public Courses and is a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary.
The Golden Horseshoe Gold Clubhouse is located south of Colonial Williamsburg’s Historic Area at 401 S. England St. in Williamsburg. The Green Course is located at 520 S. England St. about one mile from the Gold. For information, call (757) 220-7696 or visit www.colonialwilliamsburg.com.
