Sally McConnell named director of marketing for WILLIAMSBURG® Products
Sally McConnell has been named director of marketing for Colonial Williamsburg’s products division. McConnell is the former vice president of sales and marketing for InnerAsia, a Tibetan rug company located in New York, N.Y. Previously, she served for 16 years as director and vice president of French Country Living, a home furnishings store in Great Falls, Va., which she and her husband, Bringier, founded and grew into a $25 million retail and catalog brand.
McConnell will be responsible for directing--in coordination with the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation’s marketing and public relations departments--the efforts of all advertising, public relations, events, visual merchandising and creative support of Colonial Williamsburg’s retail, direct marketing and products licensing businesses. She will begin her duties May 2.
“I couldn’t be happier to have someone with Sally’s breadth of experience join the products team,” said Jim Easton, vice president of products for Colonial Williamsburg. “She brings with her a significant level of accomplishment in marketing across the retail, direct marketing and licensing channels of distribution. Her success in helping build French Country Living into the brand it became will be of great use in helping us achieve our objectives with the WILLIAMSBURG brand.”
“I am thrilled at the opportunity to work with such a talented team and to be part of a marketing effort that will continue to uphold the WILLIAMSBURG brand,” said McConnell. “My family is delighted to move here since my husband grew up in Williamsburg and we have visited often over the past 20 years.”
McConnell holds a bachelor of arts from Ohio Wesleyan University and is proficient in French. She, her husband and two teenage daughters are relocating to Williamsburg from Waterford, Va.
