Stickley expands Williamsburg Reserve® Collection
Stickley and WILLIAMSBURG® have collaborated on four new introductions: the New England Corner Chair, the Nelson-Galt Sofa Table, the Meyers Table and the Georgian Chair Side Table. These beautiful handcrafted designs are carefully reproduced from the originals in the Colonial Williamsburg collection.
The New England Corner Chair, based on an antique from Salem, Mass., features a stylish curved crest and arm rail, elaborately pierced back splats, tapered columnar stiles (vertical supports for the chair arms) embellished with carved flutes and turned moldings, and cabriole legs with ball-and-claw feet. It stands 31 inches high and 31¼ inches across.
The Nelson-Galt Sofa Table is an adaptation of a 1760 English antique sideboard table and features rococo styling with a pierced fret apron and leg brackets. The outer corners of the front feet and the sides of the back feet consist of two guttae (pronounced “goo-tie”), drop-like ornaments featured in Doric architecture. The sofa table, 32 inches high by 55 inches wide by 21 inches deep, is available either with a mahogany or marble top.
The versatile Meyers Table, a larger adaptation of the delicate Meyers Candle Stand, is a full 26¼ inches high and 25 inches in diameter. Made of solid mahogany, it serves as a beautiful yet practical surface for a table lamp or for display of small collectibles.
The Georgian Chair Side Table is a reproduction of a circa-1760 English antique and is noteworthy for its scalloped gallery top with pierced handholds, two doors with scalloped frames and pierced leg brackets. It stands 31 inches high, 21 inches wide and 19½ inches deep. The beaded outside corners of its legs further distinguish this multi-functional piece, which is well suited to almost any room of the 21st-century home. In the 18th century, it would have served as a bedside, dressing or shaving table.
