Arianna Huffington Speaks on Technology and Democracy June 14 at the Williamsburg Lodge

Arianna Huffington, president and editor-in-chief of the Huffington Post Media Group, a nationally syndicated columnist and author of 13 books, offers her observations and opinions about technology and democracy during a luncheon address Friday, June 14 in the Colony Room of the Williamsburg Lodge.

Huffington is best known for her news website, The Huffington Post, which she launched in 2005. In 2012, the site won a Pulitzer Prize for national reporting. Twice — in 2006 and again in 2011 — she was named to the Time 100, Time Magazine's list of the 100 most influential people in the world. The Huffington Post has become one of the most widely-read, linked-to and frequently-cited media brands on the Internet.

Lunch will be served at noon, followed by Huffington’s address and a question-and-answer session. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. Tickets are $65 each and include lunch.

Originally from Greece, Huffington moved to England when she was 16 and graduated from Cambridge University with a master’s degree in economics.

Later in the day, Huffington will deliver the keynote speech during the annual Flag Day naturalization ceremony for new citizens at the Colonial Capitol.
