Newest WILLIAMSBURG® licensee illuminates new Garden Images Collections at International Home Furnishings Market

Oriental Accent, Inc., Colonial Williamsburg’s newest licensee, debuted a multi-collection lighting line featuring coordinated color and design today at the International Home Furnishings Market here. The collections feature traditional toile designs, richly textured stripes and garden-inspired botanical motifs.

Exquisite porcelain lamps and accessories inspired by 18th-century botanical designs coordinate easily with the extensive line of WILLIAMSBURG® textiles distributed by Waverly as both licensees draw on Colonial Williamsburg’s vast antique collections which provide rich resources of pattern and color ideally suited to textiles and painted porcelain.

Oriental Accent’s new hand-painted porcelain table lamp is a premier example from the new Garden Images Collection for WILLIAMSBURG® Lighting. The striking design -- inspired by a circa 1737 watercolor painting in the Colonial Williamsburg antique collection – features ethereal magnolia blossoms in delicate off-white and pink set against soft green magnolia leaves over black porcelain. The combination of color and clean design offers a fresh interpretation of traditional style that bodes well for use in formal or informal and traditional or contemporary settings.
“Oriental Accent’s new introduction augurs a dramatic expansion of the WILLIAMSBURG brand,” said Kris Fischer, director of licensing for furniture and tabletop. “Their exceptional designs invigorate the WILLIAMSBURG lifestyle with clean shapes, unexpected textures and finishes, and fresh and sophisticated adaptations for today’s interiors and color schemes.”

“WILLIAMSBURG brought exquisite elements of tradition to the table,” said Lynn Hamilton, sales and marketing manager for Oriental Accent, Inc. “With our expertise, we have incorporated these designs on contemporary shapes in colors fresh and sophisticated.”

Oriental Accent, Inc. is the single largest source for fine hand-painted porcelains in a vast array of traditional designs and textures, fine hand-painted and handcrafted furniture and accessories, as well as collections of sophisticated upscale casual product designs. It is a family business headquartered in Dallas, Texas, that traces its beginnings to Beijing, China in 1880.
