New Tavern Dining Events Enhance Colonial Williamsburg’s Revolutionary City Experience
Colonial Williamsburg invites guests to experience an enhanced “taste” of 18th-century life this summer through expanded dining experiences in the Revolutionary City’s Historic Taverns. Starting this week, new programs showcase tavern life during the American Revolution served with traditional colonial fare updated for modern tastes. Southern barbecue favorites and classic American cuisine are offered throughout the summer along with a rich menu of interactive programming.
Exclusive for guests of the Colonial Williamsburg hotels, a hearty Revolutionary Breakfast with fellow patriots is served in King’s Arms Taverns or Shields Tavern. Guests can enjoy a variety of options, including a crab and cheese omelet with wine-butter sauce and skillet-fried potatoes or blueberry pancakes with spiced apples and Surry sausage.
From afternoon tea to a three-course meal served while actors portray the antics of household staff after the master and mistress retire for the evening, summer tavern dining experiences include:
These new events round out exciting days in the Revolutionary City. The perfect bookends to RevQuest: The Black Chambers, a conversation in the street with an interpreter, or an evening program, the interactive tavern offerings add a delicious and fun component to the Revolutionary City experience this summer. Guests can also take advantage of other hospitality offerings, including the award-winning Spa of Colonial Williamsburg and the Golden Horseshoe Golf Club, or take a dive in one of the Colonial Williamsburg Hotel pools. Additionally, Colonial Williamsburg’s Kids Stay, Play and Eat Free offer, with rates starting at $78 per adult, per night, makes vacations easy, fun and affordable for families.
