Williamsburg® Announces Licensing Agreement with Tele-Fun

Williamsburg announces that it has licensed “tele-fun,” a New York-based manufacturer of laminated home textile products, to create gift and decorative serveware product for the WILLIAMSBURG brand. The line debuts this month at the Atlanta International Gift and Home Furnishings Market and in February at the New York Gift Fair.

Tele-fun’s initial introduction includes a selection of laminated textile trays, serving pieces, and bath and desk accessories using the popular WILLIAMSBURG Garden Images™ fabric collection from Waverly. All of tele-fun’s products are made in the United States. Leslie Monsky, president of tele-fun, said, “Textiles are a wonderful expression of culture, whether they are toiles that tell a story with scenes, quilts that celebrate lifetime events or floral patterns that reflect the habitat and times of their creators--which is the case with the Garden Images collection. It is exciting to be producing our product using the rich textile assets of the Colonial Williamsburg collections.”

Monsky, who founded tele-fun in 1988, began her business by producing fabric telephone book covers. Tele-fun now has expanded its product line to include trays, bowls, chips and dip servers, salad servers, and bath and desk accessories.

WILLIAMSBURG products by tele-fun will be available in early spring at retailers across the country and at the WILLIAMSBURG Pure Simple Today store in Williamsburg, Va. Prices will range from $10-$70.

“We are extremely pleased to be working with tele-fun,” said Lori Williams, product manager for the WILLIAMSBURG Products Program. “Their creative products are high quality, beautiful and functional. These pieces are perfect for the customer who loves traditional design, but needs easy care functionality. They’re absolutely perfect for today’s casual entertaining occasions.”

The WILLIAMSBURG Products Program, established in 1936, provides authentic reproductions of antique furnishings and accessories as well as an interpretive lifestyle collection, both of which reflect the rich decorative arts traditions of the 18th century.
