Colonial Williamsburg Announces the Opening of a New Garden Shop at Craft House Merchant's Square

Colonial Williamsburg will open a new Garden Shop at the Craft House at Merchants Square on March 15. The new Garden Shop, which will be located downstairs, will carry an extensive line of year-round and seasonal garden products and accessories, including fountains, wreaths, birdhouses and a selection of Colonial Williamsburg’s popular how-to publications. In-store events will be held at the Garden Shop at various times throughout the year.

“We hope the Garden Shop will pique the interest of our local and regional guests,” said Laurie Bonbright, manager of the Craft House at Merchants Square. “The shop will feature specialty items that can be enjoyed year-round by both seasoned gardeners as well as those who prefer to bring the beauty of the outdoors inside.”

Products from several WILLIAMSBURG® licensees will be featured, including the newest introductions from Virginia Metalcrafters such as a garden armillary and hand lanterns in tin, copper and brass, Byers’ Choice Ltd. collectibles, botanical tabletop textiles from Stevens Linens and paper products from Caspari.

Original artwork from Yorktown, Va., artist Nancy Thomas also will be featured, including the series of four seasonal wooden plaques, uniquely framed with a painted metal bird design that Thomas has created exclusively for Colonial Williamsburg.

Beginning March 15, hours of operation for the Garden Shop at the Craft House will be 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
