CW unveils "Crown Jewel" Conference Package

When searching for a world-class venue for that next important board of directors meeting, executive retreat or customer appreciation event, meeting planners should cast an eye toward Colonial Williamsburg Hotels and their “Crown Jewel” conference package featuring the historic Williamsburg Inn, located in the heart of the restored 18th-century capital of Virginia.

With 8,000 square feet of meeting and banquet space, and 110 rooms (62 rooms and suites in the main building, 15 rooms in Providence Hall House and 43 rooms in Providence Wing), the Williamsburg Inn not only is the crown jewel of Colonial Williamsburg’s hospitality facilities, but also has earned its status as one of the world’s great hotels. Since John D. Rockefeller Jr. opened the Williamsburg Inn more than six decades ago, the Inn—fully restored in 2001—has hosted heads of state and industry from the four corners of the world.

Groups booking a conference or retreat at the Williamsburg Inn between now and Sept. 1, 2006, will receive 20 percent off a future booking at the newly renovated Williamsburg Lodge and Conference Center when it re-opens in Fall 2006. Guest rooms at the Inn start at $195 with a minimum of 10 rooms and a two-night stay. For more details or to book a “Crown Jewel” conference package, call (800) 822-9127.

Inn guests may enjoy gourmet dining in the Inn’s elegant Regency Room or more casual fare in the Restoration Bar, and recreational activities that include award-winning golf, swimming, tennis, croquet, lawn bowling and a fitness club complete with spa services.

The Inn’s cozy interiors, spanning three centuries of style—from 19th-century Regency décor to 21st-century amenities--reflect Rockefeller’s vision of a historic country inn with the most modern, gracious appointments.

Concierge staff can help arrange activities to enhance your meeting, from programs in the Historic Area to tee times at the adjacent 45-hole Golden Horseshoe Golf Club, a “Gold Medalist” golf resort recently recognized as one of 22 in GOLF magazine’s bi-annual ranking of top U.S. golf resorts. The par-71 Gold Course, par-72 Green Course and nine-hole executive course round out the Golden Horseshoe’s diverse offerings.

When the Williamsburg Lodge makes its grand re-opening in Fall 2006, it will feature 323 well-appointed guest rooms as well as 45,000 square feet of state-of-the-art meeting and banquet space for up to 1,000 people with two large ballrooms, 31 versatile meeting rooms and four outdoor function areas. A new specialty restaurant will feature the best of regional cuisine. A 21,000-square-foot spa will offer a full range of personal care services from massages, facials, manicures and pedicures to rejuvenating body treatments, while the addition of a new, cutting-edge health evaluation center, offering lifestyle counseling and advanced diagnostic services for men and women, will make the facility one of the finest conference sites in the mid-Atlantic.

Colonial Williamsburg Hotels recently won Meeting News magazine’s “2004 Planner’s Choice” award, chosen by more than 60,000 meeting, convention and incentive travel planners, and honoring excellence in meeting services and facilities.
