CW wins Gold Tee award for 2005
“Meetings & Conventions” magazine recently announced that Colonial Williamsburg’s official hotels along with its Golden Horseshoe Golf Club are winners of the 2005 Gold Tee award, a highly respected recognition given annually to outstanding golf and meeting properties worldwide as selected by the magazine’s readers based on overall excellence. Sixty domestic and eight offshore/international properties are being recognized this year. Colonial Williamsburg has received the Gold Tee Award each year since 1999.
“The meeting industry’s most important and distinctive critics have made their selection for the best worldwide,” said Bernard W. Schraer, “Meetings & Conventions” group publisher. “M&C’s core readership of more than 70,000 corporate, incentive and association meetings planners know quality when they experience it and again have made their votes count, selecting the golf properties they believed to be outstanding. Our entire staff salutes the 68 properties worldwide that have distinguished themselves in this industry and earned the Gold Tee honor.”
“We are thrilled to again receive this coveted award from one of the conference industry’s key publications,” said Gary Brown, Colonial Williamsburg’s vice president of conference sales. “We are committed to keeping the Golden Horseshoe golf courses in the condition that our meeting planner clientele expect. This award is really a testament to the quality of our golf operation.”
