Pepsi Bottling Group presents $100,000 to CW

The Pepsi Bottling Group (PBG) has presented a check for $100,000 to The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, the second installment this year at the halfway point toward a 10-year commitment of $1.1 million. The funds will be added to Colonial Williamsburg’s Annual Fund as part of the Campaign for Colonial Williamsburg, Colonial Williamsburg’s $500 million comprehensive fund-raising campaign.

“We are grateful to The Pepsi Bottling Group for this continuing commitment to Colonial Williamsburg,” said Sophia Hart, Colonial Williamsburg’s director of corporate and foundation relations. “This grant and our broader business partnership with Pepsi are enhancements to the support of our educational mission and ensure the preservation and appeal of Colonial Williamsburg for years into the future.”

The Pepsi Bottling Group, headquartered in Somers, N.Y., is the world’s largest manufacturer, distributor and seller of Pepsi-Cola beverages with operations in the United States, Canada, Greece, Russia, Mexico and Spain. In 1994, The Pepsi Bottling Group and Colonial Williamsburg signed an agreement making Pepsi the foundation’s exclusive supplier of soft drinks. In 1999, the agreement was extended for 10 years.

“We at Pepsi remain committed to ensuring that families have places like Colonial Williamsburg where they can learn about our country’s history and enjoy quality time with each other,” said Mark Turner, director of sales. “We are proud to be a part of the foundation’s comprehensive campaign and are excited about the opportunities the future will bring.”
