WILLIAMSBURG® introductions for April 2006 High Point Market

Capel

Expanding on WILLIAMSBURG’s beautiful rug collection, Capel is introducing five new plaid rugs that color-coordinate with the WILLIAMSBURG “Age of Exploration” fabric collection. Adapted from a man’s silk plaid waistcoat found in the Colonial Williamsburg collections, the new Capel “Confections” rugs bring the elegant, timeless quality of 18th-century dress into today’s home. The exquisite rugs come in five striking colors, including kiwi, licorice, taffy, butterscotch, and chocolate. The chenille construction adds softness to any room and perfectly complements WILLIAMSBURG bedding.

Artland

WILLIAMSBURG’s first product line for pets, the Artland “Good for You” pet accessories, is inspired by a two-handled drinking cup from the 1700s. The cup is inscribed with a popular toast of the period, “The best is not too good for you.” The ceramic pet collection incorporates this phrase onto a caddy containing a large and small bowl, a leash, and a treat jar.

NDI

With 125 new items in the “WILLIAMSBURG Today” collection by NDI, this line is quite an expansion of colors, floral patterns, shapes, and sizes! Creating arrangements for every room of the house, the new Everyday collection takes inspiration from the cutting gardens of Colonial Williamsburg as well as the 18th-century love for herbs. Incorporating casual containers with a cut-flower feel allows these pieces to work extremely well in today’s home.

Foreside

WILLIAMSBURG continues to reach into the kitchen with the “Bittersweet” ceramic casual dining collection by Foreside. Inspired by a beautiful 18th-century New England counterpane embroidered in rich autumnal brown, yellow, and orange, all the pieces are hand-painted with stitched flowers and vines. The whimsical, decorative quality of the Bittersweet collection makes it perfect for entertaining in the kitchen in a fun and modern way.

Pine Cone Hill

A new quilted bedding pattern in a palette of coral, moss green, and brown further expands the WILLIAMSBURG bedding collection while adding an entirely new dimension of color. Floral patterns are interspersed with classic stripes to give the bedding a very contemporary touch. A sateen cotton peony quilt and sham add to the luxurious products already in the Pine Cone Hill collection.

Michaelian Home
Extending the WILLIAMSBURG “Age of Exploration” collection that launched last fall, new pillows by Michaelian Home are designed for the sea-faring soul. Ship images from Colonial Williamsburg’s folk art collection, sea birds like the blue heron and curlew, and the sea crab make this extension the perfect complement to the WILLIAMSBURG line.

Oriental Accents
Broadening the reach of the WILLIAMSBURG’s decorative arts, ORIENTAL ACCENTS is adding two pairs of hand-painted wall panels to the collection, In a Chinese Garden and Lightfoot Basket. These exquisitely rendered panels feature flowering branches, exotic birds, and baskets of flowers capture the delicate beauty of 18th-century Chinese wallpaper that once hung in the Lightfoot House in Colonial Williamsburg. The panels will be available in two sizes making its dramatic impact available for today’s interiors at a very good price point.
