CW's Golden Horseshoe ranked on Golf Digest's list of 75 Best Resorts

Williamsburg’s Golden Horseshoe Golf Club has been named to Golf Digest’s 2006 – 2007 list of 75 greatest golf resorts in North America the magazine announced in its December 2006 issue. The listing recognizes the Williamsburg Inn and the Williamsburg Lodge and conference center as the resort property. Golf Digest’s course-rating panel, a group of more than 800 low-handicap golfers, rated the resorts on various criteria including quality of lodging, dining and golf.

“We are proud to be recognized among America’s great golf resorts,” said John Hallowell, president of Colonial Williamsburg’s hospitality group. “The ranking recognizes the commitment our entire team has made to our guests. It’s not just the beautiful course, but the facilities, the service, the dining and the complete resort experience.”

The ranking places Colonial Williamsburg’s Golden Horseshoe in the company of some of the most famous names in golf resorts. The Golden Horseshoe Golf Club includes 45 holes on the first side-by-side father-son courses designed by golf course architects Robert Trent Jones Sr. and Rees Jones and will host the men’s 2007 NCAA Division I championship tournament in the spring of 2007.
