Jefferson's America: Lewis & Clark and Western Exploration Poster Exhibition
To commemorate the bicentennial of the Lewis & Clark Expedition, the Monticello (Thomas Jefferson Foundation) Education Department has produced a poster exhibition titled Jefferson's America: Lewis & Clark and Western Exploration. The posters trace the expedition from Jefferson's vision and Meriwether Lewis' preparations in Philadelphia to the explorers' travels across the country to the Pacific Ocean.
Thanks to a generous gift from the State Farm Insurance Companies, Monticello is able to offer this exhibition free of charge to elementary and middle schools across the country. Because of the limited supply of posters, Monticello can only send one set per school. For more information on the poster exhibition and its accompanying 24-page teacher guide (or to order a set of posters for your school), please visit the Monticello Web Site at: http://www.monticello.org/education/lcresource/posterrequest.html
Please remember that posters are available on a first come, first served basis
and are sent out in a bulk mailing every few months.
