Bring the past alive in your classroom

The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation is proud to announce its next generation of online programming!

Extensive educational resources created for the Electronic Field Trip programs are available in the new HERO — “History Education Resources Online” — multimedia library and e-learning environment.

Developed by teachers and content experts for 4th- through 8th- grade students, these standards correlated resources include curated video, web activities, historical background and topic overviews, lesson plans, time lines, glossaries, and primary sources.

studioThe Electronic Field Trip Live broadcast events continue on live television or as Internet events via streamed video. These broadcasts are available to the public. Learn more

HERO subscribers also have access to the seven LIVE broadcast programs with EXCLUSIVE personal interactions:

  • Call us live to ask historical characters and historians questions. Every student will receive a personal answer from our experts, either on-air or behind-the-scenes.
  • Email a character or historian during the week of the broadcast
  • Post to the student message board or Twitter
  • Vote in our instant feedback poll
