Art Museums Admission Required

Isaac Bickerstaff was the author of many successful works for musical theater, including Love in a Village, Thomas and Sally, and The Padlock – all three of which were performed in Williamsburg in the 1760s and 70s. Join the Governor’s Musick, in conjunction with the Gender and Sexual Diversity Committee, as they tell the tale of this once-famous musical theater playwright, who lost his career and reputation due to public exposure of his homosexuality. This program may discuss sensitive topics and use mature language.
