Virginia, the birthplace of our nation, is home to our nation’s greatest leaders and its most hallowed ground. It is rich in beauty, stories, and historic landmarks. Virginia is also one of the first in the country to recognize the importance of protecting these historically significant buildings, landmarks, and properties.
Our Tidewater Virginia Historical Society Sunday Lecture Series welcomes Virginia’s preeminent architectural historian Calder Loth to the historic Kimball Theatre in downtown Williamsburg. He is the retired Senior Architectural Historian for the Virginia Department of Historic Resources where he served for over 40 years and was instrumental in the development of Virginia’s state preservation easement program which has led to the preservation of so many of our historic landmarks. He is a sought-after lecturer, serves on the advisory committees for several Virginia landmarks including Preservation Virginia, Historic Richmond Foundation, Gunston Hall, and others. He is also an author with works including The Virginia Landmarks Register and The Making of Virginia Architecture.
Please use link to register for lecture: https://www.tv-hs.org/programs. There is a $10 non-member fee collected at the door once you are registered. Lobby opens at 1:15 pm and seating begins at 1:30 pm. General admission.
