Albert Durant Photography Collection
June 19, 1:00PM - 5:00PM at the Stryker Center
Join us for a special Juneteenth celebration of the work of Albert Durant, Williamsburg's first Black city-licensed photographer.
Durant's photographs, housed at the John D. Rockefeller Jr. Library, provide a priceless visual history of Black life in Williamsburg and surrounding communities from the late 1930s through the early 1960s. Learn about recent projects to preserve and promote the Durant Collection, and help us identify individuals pictured in Durant's photos. More information about the Durant Collection is available through the library's digital collections and an online exhibition.
