Rockefeller Library Exhibit Opening + Open House

The Rockefeller Library is pleased to announce the opening of a new exhibition: The Garden Detective: Arthur Shurcliff’s Restoration of the Governor’s Palace Landscape. Featuring landscape drawings and plans, photographs, documents, and ephemera, the exhibition traces the steps undertaken by Arthur Shurcliff as he researched, designed, and brought to life the restoration-era gardens at Colonial Williamsburg's Governor’s Palace. This exhibition will be open from November 12, 2026 through 2027.

Join us on Thursday, November 12th from 3:00-6:00PM to explore The Garden Detective exhibition, as well as treasures from the 18th century to the modern day; 18th-century botanical texts, materials from the Foundation’s founding, and more will be on display! Learn from collection experts and enjoy light refreshments.

No ticket required; free parking is available on site.
