Back to School: Explore Colonial Williamsburg with Google Arts & Culture

What if your students could explore Colonial Williamsburg from anywhere? To celebrate America's 250th anniversary, Colonial Williamsburg has partnered with Google Arts & Culture to create an immersive digital hub featuring the people, places, objects, and stories that shaped life in 18th-century Virginia. Through interactive stories, virtual tours, 3D objects, and thousands of artifacts and primary sources, this free online experience brings Revolutionary history, daily life, historic trades, and the colonial capital to classrooms around the world. 

Join us as we introduce this exciting new digital resource with Dr. Katie Schinabeck, PhD, Digital Content Researcher & Producer at The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, who helped bring the project to life. Together, we'll explore the platform's features, highlight the breadth of the resource, and share practical strategies for using Google Arts & Culture to spark historical inquiry, deepen student engagement, and connect students with the people and events of America's founding. We'll also explore our new NotebookLM feature, a practical tool for integrating AI into the social studies classroom. You’ll leave with fresh ideas and free digital resources to use in your classroom.
